Safeguarding and Child Safety Policy
How we keep every child safe in online lessons.
Last updated: October 23, 2026
If you have an urgent concern about a child’s safety, contact our Safeguarding Lead now: abdelrahmanmortada2020@gmail.com or WhatsApp +201061652321. We reply within one hour, seven days a week.
Every child should be able to learn in a safe space. This page explains what we do to protect your child and what you can expect from us.
Our six promises to every child
Vetted and trained teachers only
Every teacher who works with children completes a background check, child safeguarding training and a supervised start before teaching a child alone.
Lessons that can be reviewed
Lessons with children take place on our monitored lesson platform. Recordings are kept for 30 days. Parents can ask to see them, and our safeguarding team can review them if a concern is raised.
No private contact outside the platform
Teachers may not contact children by WhatsApp, social media, personal email or any channel outside the Academy’s official platform.
A report after every lesson
After each lesson, the parent or guardian receives a short written summary: what was covered, how the child took part and any notes from the teacher.
Zero tolerance for inappropriate content
A teacher who shares inappropriate content or language, or communicates unsuitably with a child, is removed immediately and reported to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
A named safeguarding contact
Child safety concerns go to a named Safeguarding Lead, not a general inbox. We respond within one hour, seven days a week, including holidays.
Teacher conduct
Every teacher signs our Code of Conduct before the first lesson.
Teachers may
- Talk with the child through the Academy’s lesson platform only.
- Send lesson notes and materials through the Academy’s parent communication channel.
- Adjust the pace and content to the child’s age and needs.
- Praise and encourage the child with age-appropriate language.
- Raise learning concerns with the Academy’s academic team.
Teachers may never
- Contact a child by WhatsApp, personal email or social media.
- Ask a child for personal contact details or social media profiles.
- Share personal information beyond their name and teaching background.
- Discuss anything that is not part of the lesson curriculum.
- Ask a child to keep any message, gift or arrangement secret from parents.
A teacher who breaks these rules is suspended immediately while we investigate.
How we keep each lesson safe
- All lessons with children are on video, never audio-only or text-only.
- Recordings are kept for 30 days and are available to parents on written request.
- Parents may join or observe any lesson at any time, without notice.
- Lesson materials for children are checked to make sure they suit the child’s age.
- Lesson content stays within the agreed curriculum.
- A teacher will not reschedule or cancel a child’s lesson without telling the parent at least 4 hours before.
- If a technical fault ends the lesson, the teacher waits 5 minutes and then contacts the Academy, not the child.
Female teachers: if you prefer a female teacher for your daughter, tell us when you book. We will match you with one, subject to availability, at no extra cost.
Safeguarding training for teachers
Being qualified to teach Arabic is not the same as being qualified to teach children safely. Before a teacher takes a lesson with a child, they must complete training on:
- Recognising signs of distress, abuse and online safety risks.
- Appropriate language and communication with a child.
- Digital safety boundaries, platform rules and data privacy.
- What to do if a child says something concerning during a lesson.
- Teaching methods that suit young children.
- A refresher every 12 months.
How to report a concern
If your child tells you something that worries you, or something in a lesson did not feel right, contact us straight away. No concern is too small.
- Email: abdelrahmanmortada2020@gmail.com
- WhatsApp: +201061652321
- Response time: within one hour, seven days a week
Your report is confidential. If a concern points to a risk to a child, we are required to act, and we will do so openly with the parent or guardian.
A guide for parents
- Keep devices in a shared space for younger children, with a parent or sibling nearby.
- Observe any lesson. You do not need permission. Just join the session.
- Ask your child about the lesson and tell us if they seem unwilling to attend.
- Report off-platform contact immediately. If a teacher contacts your child outside the platform, tell us. It is a serious breach.
- Read the lesson summary we send you and reply if something looks unusual.
